This position designs, implements, and operates data management systems for intelligence needs.

  • Design how data will be stored, accessed, used, integrated, and managed by different data regimes and digital systems.
  • Work with data users to determine, create, and populate optimal data architectures, structures, and systems.
  • Plan, design, and optimize data throughput and query performance.
  • Participate in the selection of backend database technologies (e.g. SQL, No

    SQL, HPC, etc.), their configuration and utilization, and the optimization of the full data pipeline infrastructure.
Job Requirements
  • Required experience:

    2+ years’ experience in data engineering, data science, software engineering, machine learning engineering.
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Security Clearance:
    Must have active Top Secret Security Clearance and be able to obtain TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.
  • US citizenship required.
  • Experienced (Non-Manager).
  • Full-Time.
Responsibility Summary
  • Maintain and extend existing data centralization and automation software.
  • Possess proven work experience or formal training as a Data Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer, or similar role.
  • Technical Responsibilities
    • Use Python to read, create, and modify relational and graph databases.
    • Use Python to provide REST API services for databases.
    • Use GIT for software version control.
    • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
    • Familiarity with full software development life cycle (SDLC).
    • Comply with industry standards and best practices.
    • Provide expertise in Apache Airflow.
    • Use Apache Airflow to design and implement data pipelines for extract, transform, and load operations.
    • Use Apache Airflow to design and implement pipelines for task automation.
    • Use Python and Apache Airflow to develop production machine learning pipelines from existing prototype models.
    • Work with data scientists and algorithm developers to design and implement software applications pertaining to data and ML pipelines.
    • Provide expertise in Linux OS and Docker.
    • Use Linux OS as primary development environment.
    • Use Docker to containerize existing software applications.
    • Provide expertise in databases and database design, including SQL, No

      SQL, and ORMs.
    • Develop data models for various data modalities.
    • Maintain and extend software documentation according to best practices.
    • Create technical documentation, flow charts, and specifications for reference, reporting, and security.
    Collaboration and Training
    • Collaborate with MSIC personnel and share leading practices and lessons learned in formal training events.
    • Collaborate with other contractor teams supporting each division across MSIC who will operate as domain-specific mission owners.
    Desired Experience
    • Design and implement data pipelines.
    • Tools:
      Apache Airflow, Linux OS, Docker, SQL, No

      SQL, ORMs, graph databases, GIT.
    Security Clearance Requirements
    • Must have an active Top Secret Security Clearance and the ability to obtain TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.

    • Must be a US citizen and be able to obtain and hold an active Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI and CI Polygraph.
