Software Developer - Java

As a Software Developer on McLeod Software’s Enterprise Software Services team, you’ll play a hands‑on role in building, enhancing, and supporting applications used across the transportation industry. This is an ideal opportunity for a developer with solid fundamentals who’s ready to take on more complex challenges, deepen their technical expertise, and contribute meaningfully to customer success.

You’ll work within our established software development life cycle, collaborating with cross‑functional partners to deliver reliable, scalable solutions. Depending on business needs, you may support:

• The Support Channel – resolving customer‑reported issues and improving system stability
• The Engagement Channel – develop new features/customizations that drive customer value

• Design, develop, and maintain applications using Java and Type Script
• Troubleshoot and resolve customer‑reported issues with clean, scalable code
• Actively participate in all phases of the SDLC, from requirements through delivery
• Identify opportunities that align with your technical strengths and career goals
• Continue learning through mentorship, peer collaboration, and exposure to best practices related to McLeod Software’s suite of products

• Bachelor’s degree or 6+ years of software development experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Proven proficiency in Java and/or Type Script and the ability to work effectively within moderately complex codebases
• Demonstrated understanding of object‑oriented programming principles, data structures, and design patterns
• Experience using development tools such as Git, Intelli
  
  J, Azure Dev Ops, and Eclipse
• Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases
• Experience with enterprise software systems and customer‑facing issue resolution
• Transportation industry experience (a plus)
