Data Engineer
This position is located in the Railroad Retirement Board's Bureau of Information Services. The incumbent will be responsible for defining and executing the agency's enterprise data strategy, establishing the target-state data architecture, and driving the transformation of the RRB's data ecosystem from legacy systems to modern, interoperable platforms.
Minimum QualificationsMinimum Qualifications for GS-14 level:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service.
Only experience obtained by the closing date of this announcement will be considered.
Specialized Experience- Developing enterprise data strategies and target-state architectures.
- Directing the migration of legacy data silos into modern enterprise platforms.
- Providing data management and data governance expert technical guidance to senior leadership.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, Ameri Corps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
