This position functions as a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET). As a Senior SDET within PNC’s Consumer Lending Originations Technology organization, you will play a critical role in leading quality strategy and test automation for large‑scale, enterprise initiatives. This role is ideal for a Senior SDET who combines strong technical depth with hands‑on leadership, modern automation practices, and banking domain expertise.

This position will be based in Pittsburgh, PA;
Strongsville, OH;
Birmingham, AL; or Dallas, TX.

• Senior level experience as an SDET or QA Engineer, with a strong focus on automation and enterprise systems.
• Proven experience leading testing efforts for large‑scale, multi‑team initiatives.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with:
  Java, Selenium, Cucumber/Gherkin; API testing (REST, SOAP); CI/CD pipelines and automated quality gates.
• Experience working with Kafka, Web Services, Oracle, MongoDB, and distributed systems.
• Solid understanding of test strategy, governance, and risk‑based testing.
• Experience in banking or financial services is strongly preferred.

• A thought‑leader in quality engineering who challenges the status quo.
• Comfortable operating at both strategic and hands‑on levels.
• A strong communicator who can articulate quality risks and trade‑offs to technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Passionate about mentoring and raising the overall quality maturity of teams.

• Provides detailed technical design and development of software solutions using existing and emerging technology platforms.
• Proposes & designs software solutions to address complex business needs.
• Writes code, tests, and deploys software.
• Prepares technical and procedural documentation required for software.
• Maintains and debugs software.

• Customer Focused – Knowledgeable of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and able to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.
• Managing Risk – Assessing and effectively managing all of the risks associated with their business objectives and activities to ensure they adhere to and support PNC’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework.

Base Salary: $55,000.00 - $

Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
