Software Engineer - Automation & Platform

Position Overview

As a Software Engineer in Automation & Platform Technology, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Dallas, TX, Strongsville, OH or Birmingham, AL. The role supports the development of automation initiatives with exposure to Document AI and AI-driven technologies, contributing to the design, development and implementation of automation tools using Python‑based frameworks, cloud platforms and GenAI capabilities to enhance processes in Banking and Lending applications.

• Develop, test and implement software solutions.
• Design software solutions to address business needs.
• Write code, test and deploy software.
• Prepare technical and procedural documentation required for software.
• Maintain and debug software.

• University/college degree or equivalent combination of education, certification and experience (including military service). Minimum 2+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong knowledge of Python and cloud platform development.
• Experience with Document AI, generative AI or related automation technologies.
• Ability to write clear, maintainable code and test it thoroughly.
• Excellent technical troubleshooting, debugging and documentation skills.
• Knowledge of application design, architecture and system development life‑cycle.
• Experience with release management or packaged application integration is a plus.
• Strong communication and customer‑focused mindset.
• Ability to assess and manage risks aligned with PNC’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework.

Bachelor’s degree required. No specific certifications or licenses required.

Base salary ranges from $75,000.00 to $, depending on location, market data and individual experience and education. The role is incentive eligible based on company, business or individual performance.
