Be home every night and make a difference in your community! We are looking for Class A CDL Drivers that have not only a great work ethic but also have outstanding customer service skills. This position provides a unique opportunity for those looking to combine their love of driving and their love for serving for a great cause! Our CDL Drivers operate local runs as well as OTR within the southeastern states with most weekends home.
Roles and Responsibilities- To safely and efficiently operate commercial motor vehicles in urban, suburban, and rural areas, and confined spaces, in all weather conditions to transport freight.
- Comply with company policies and federal, state, and local regulations.
- Take and verify dispatch instructions.
- Safe operation of equipment and on-time movement of shipments.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Maintain truck log according to state and federal regulations.
- Most freight is drop and hook.
- Will require early morning hours and late evening hours.
- Must abide by DOT rules and regulations for hours of service.
- Will be required to aid in unloading/loading process at store when needed, most actions will be drop and hook.
- Drop and hook trailer swaps at donations trailer sites will be required.
- Drop and hook trailer swaps at store retail sites will be required.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Valid Class A CDL.
- Experience operating similar type equipment minimum 3 years of experience.
- No major accidents in the last 3 years.
- No DUI/DWI in the last 3 years.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and driver record check.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a current DOT Physical.
- Must currently have or obtain double endorsement.
- Occasionally
- Carrying up to 50 lbs., pushing and pulling up to 25 lbs., lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing up to 14-foot height, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, handling, and smelling. - Continuously
- Sitting for extended periods while maintaining focus, often for 8-12 hours a day, during long-haul driving. - Continuously
- Extended periods of sitting, possibly in a confined space, with limited movement. Ability to manage fatigue and maintain alertness over long shifts. - Frequently
- Twisting, turning, and bending to inspect the vehicle, secure cargo, or handle emergencies.
- Mostly regular hours, occasionally working evenings, weekend and holiday hours as needed.
- Must withstand exposure to various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, or snow.
