Position Description

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Birmingham, AL, offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about.

• Driver Positions Pay:
  Weekly, $1900 or more
• Solo Miles Pay: $0.65 per Mile (1800–2500 Miles per Week)
• Solo Stops Pay: $25.00 per Stop (3–7 Stops per Week)
• Per Diem: $35.00 per night out
• Safety Bonus: $300 every Quarter
• Paid Training
• Schedule:
  
  Reset each weekend at home

• Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards; maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load and unload freight, or assist as required by customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from prior employers for the last 3 years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle: 9+ months within the past 3 years, or 2+ years within the last 5 years, or 5+ years within the last 10 years.
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures.

• Medical, Dental & Vision after 30 days.
• 80 hours PTO your first year, starting Day 1 (use it or get paid for it).
• Uniforms, cell phone & boot allowance provided.
• Drivers are in charge of safety decisions, and job is protected.
