About the Role
Penn Tank Lines is seeking an Operations Supervisor (Dispatcher) to coordinate driver schedules, load assignments, and daily terminal activity to support accurate, timely, and well-executed deliveries. This role is well suited for someone who works steadily within established procedures, maintains close attention to operational details, and supports consistent execution across a fast-moving terminal environment.
Core Responsibilities
- Oversee daily driver activity and address delivery issues in alignment with dispatch procedures and terminal guidelines
- Develop and adjust delivery schedules based on routing plans, operational requirements, and service priorities
- Monitor petroleum inventories and coordinate allocation needs with suppliers using established processes
- Plan and sequence loads to support efficient delivery flow and dependable service execution
- Evaluate delivery performance, identify service risks, and elevate operational concerns to Terminal Management in accordance with defined guidelines
- Conduct station monitoring and load analysis to identify potential service issues and support preventative action
- Review driver logs and coordinate equipment maintenance scheduling based on operational timelines and maintenance requirements
Requirements
Required Skills & Abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with drivers, suppliers, and terminal leadership
- Ability to work within established procedures while maintaining accuracy across scheduling, inventory, and dispatch activity
- Sound problem-solving skills grounded in operational data, service requirements, and defined processes
- Comfort managing multiple priorities in a structured, team-based environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; experience with routing or dispatch software is a plus
- Familiarity with local and regional geography
Other Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
- Experience in logistics, transportation, customer service, or a related operational environment
- Prior supervisory, leadership, or military experience in fuel, logistics, or transportation is a plus
