The Warehouse Picker 1 is responsible for ensuring the timely and correct replenishment of product into the Vertique system towers following best practices, including recycling damaged cases of product.
Essential Functions- Regular and timely attendance is an essential function; position required to work all hours necessary, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Fill the discharge conveyors of one cell tower with thirty lanes.
- Keep all assigned conveyor lanes full, with correct product, as dictated by the lighting system.
- Load only good‑condition product into discharge conveyors, keeping the conveyor rollers free of plastic or cardboard debris.
- Maintain blue (green) discharge conveyor lamps; chase red lights.
- Keep assigned lanes running free of jams.
- Remove empty pallets, damaged product, and shrink wrap from pick areas and move them to collection areas.
- Communicate with forklift operators and system operators via radio throughout the shift on status of the tower lanes (product needs, jams, clear false discharges, empty pallet collection, damage collection).
- Identify need and assist other tower areas when appropriate.
- Recycle operations: sort and dispose of damaged items in the respective recycle bins.
- Register all damaged items to be removed from inventory in the damaged logs.
- Sanitation: maintain cleanliness of equipment and building; sweep, mop, and remove all trash, pallet pieces, and debris.
- Properly handle packaging products, avoiding rough handling.
- Use proper lifting techniques to avoid injuries and follow safety Central Hub guidelines.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Program (GMP) requirements (CFR 21 §110) and complete required food‑safety training.
- Other assigned duties as needed.
Education and Experience
- High School Graduate or GED:
Preferred. - Must be able to read product packaging and communicate in English via radio.
- Stand, walk, and climb stairs constantly; often walk; occasionally sit.
- Manually manipulate, grasp, reach outward and above shoulder, speak, and occasionally crawl.
- Lift up to 30 pounds repetitively and up to 50 pounds intermittently; load pallets up to 65 pounds; lift products up to 30 lbs., occasionally 50 lbs.; push or pull items ranging from 12–40 lbs.
- Periodic lifting above shoulder height and work in a fast‑paced warm environment.
- Must distinguish between red, green, and off lights.
- Must wear PPE such as high‑visibility shirt or safety vest, slip‑resistant shoes, mask, eye protection, etc.
