Warehouse Supervisor
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the effective utilization of resources and equipment to ensure the daily operations of the distribution warehouse are performed in a timely, accurate and safe manner.
Responsibilities- Lead, direct, and coordinate warehouse personnel to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of all warehouse operations.
- Drive consistent execution of Standard Work, reinforcing quality, performance, and operational discipline across all processes.
- Own SAP transaction integrity by ensuring timely and accurate completion of all receipts; proactively escalation risks, delays, or systemic issues.
- Ensure material identification and labeling standards are consistently met to support inventory accuracy and downstream execution.
- Maintain accurate inventory through cycle counts and active discrepancy resolution within assigned areas of responsibility.
- Establish and maintain accurate stock locations, ensuring locations are properly labeled and aligned with SAP ERP system requirements.
- Ensure materials are received, stored, and put away correctly in accordance with SAP-defined locations and warehouse standards.
- Balance operational execution by supporting material picking as needed to ensure KPI attainment and customer commitments.
- Plan, schedule, and supervise labor to effectively manage workload, breaks, lunches, vacations, and lead coverage requirements.
- Ensure warehouse teams are equipped with necessary tools and supplies; manage ordering and inventory of supplies as required.
- Implement, communicate, and enforce warehouse work instructions, policies, and procedures.
- Partner with management on staffing plans and talent needs; support hiring, interviewing, and onboarding activities.
- Monitor warehouse performance metrics and lead continuous improvement initiatives to close gaps and improve results.
- Ensure all warehouse personnel are properly trained on departmental procedures; identify training gaps and drive retraining as needed.
- Review operational errors, lead root cause analysis, and reinforce corrective actions through coaching and retraining.
- Address employee concerns, resolve conflicts, and manage grievances professionally in accordance with site and company policies.
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate expectations, priorities, safety topics, and performance results.
- Lead by example by maintaining a visible floor presence, assessing workload demands, and providing support during peak or critical periods.
- Enforce housekeeping, safety, and 5S standards to maintain an organized, compliant, and efficient work environment.
- Develop, coach, and monitor employee performance; provide actionable feedback and growth opportunities.
- Provide input into employee performance evaluations and talent development discussions.
- Identify, escalade, and correct safety hazards; actively promote a strong safety culture.
- Perform additional leadership duties as required to support operational and business objectives.
Experience &
Education:
- 3 years leadership experience
- Forklift experience/training
- Experience with loading/unloading trucks
- High School Diploma/GED required
- ERP systems experience
- Working conditions are normal for a distribution environment.
- Will require heavy work (lifting greater than 30 pounds). Ability to carry 50 lbs. for 100 feet unassisted.
- Distribution warehouse requires the use of safety PPE equipment to include but not limited to eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, steel-toe shoes, and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes are not permitted.
- Regularly required to stand or sit and move about the facility. Ability to stand for 8 hours per day.
Will require proper coordination, and motor skills to work with power/hand tools as needed.
