Position SummaryThe Receiving Coordinator reports to the Production Manager and is primarily responsible for ensuring the timely unloading of green coffee & tea and the accurate computer entry of material receipts. The position schedules trucks and interacts with carriers.
Supervisory Responsibilities- None
- Identify green coffee by bag type and/or country of origin.
- Operate equipment safely and effectively, including:
- “Strong‑Arm” pneumatic manipulator for unloading green coffee.
- An industrial standing lift truck.
- A industrial electrical hoist.
- Use a floor scale system with tare function to obtain accurate weight.
- Enter material information—including STO numbers and bag marks—into the HMI control screens.
- Transport and dispose refuse in the proper compactor.
- Maintain the receiving area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion; keep the area “Tour‑Ready” and follow the sanitation schedule.
- Follow established GMPs, quality, and food safety requirements.
- Carry out all assigned tasks in a safe and proper manner.
- Adhere to GMPs, quality, and food safety requirements.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED).
- Good attendance record.
- Certified lift‑truck operator for both standing & pallet jack lifts, or ability to obtain certification.
- Basic reasoning abilities, including:
- Apply common sense to detailed written or oral instructions.
- Deal with problems involving few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Read, write, and interpret basic correspondence, safety instructions, and training materials.
- Perform simple mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication) using currency, weight, volume, and distance units.
- Operate basic office equipment: telephone, desktop computer, fax, copy machine.
- Enter data via keyboard, touch screen, and barcode scans.
- Successfully complete the pre‑employment process.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing and/or warehouse environment.
- Safely climb in and out of a motorized forklift, ladder, and stairs.
- Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Use hand tools and fingering/handling to operate buttons/levers of equipment.
- Push and pull up to 100 lbs of force; lift up to 35 lbs alone and up to 154 lbs with assistance.
- Carry tools up to 10 lbs.
- Stoop, kneel, crouch, squat, and other movements to reach bags of coffee from ground level, attach air hoses, adjust loading dock, or load bags.
- Reach forward up to 40 in. and overhead up to 76 in. to access equipment, machinery, or product.
- Balance or walk on uneven surfaces.
Frequently working near production machinery and occasionally near hand jacks or forklifts.
Frequently working in an environment with variable temperatures.
