Position OverviewWe are seeking a Junior Composites Product Engineer to support the design, development, and testing of composite components and tooling. This entry-level role is ideal for early-career engineers looking to grow their expertise in advanced materials and manufacturing processes. The Junior Engineer will work closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to assist in product development, prototyping, and process documentation.
Key Responsibilities Product Design & Development- Assist in creating CAD models and drawings for composite components and assemblies.
- Support the definition of basic technical specifications and design requirements.
- Participate in prototype development and testing activities.
- Maintain organized design documentation and records.
- Assist in the design and development of basic tooling (molds, fixtures, jigs).
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure tooling meets design intent.
- Support tooling validation and improvement efforts.
- Help document composite manufacturing processes (e.g., layup, curing, trimming).
- Participate in process trials and support data collection.
- Assist in implementing DFM/DFA principles under guidance.
- Support material selection and testing activities.
- Assist in preparing samples and conducting basic mechanical tests.
- Help analyze test data and document results.
- Work closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams.
- Participate in team meetings, design reviews, and project updates.
- Continuously learn and apply engineering principles and best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
- 0–2 years of experience in composites or related engineering field (internships or co-ops preferred).
- Familiarity with CAD tools (Solid Works, CATIA, or NX).
- Basic understanding of composite materials and manufacturing processes.
- Strong interest in hands‑on engineering and product development.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Detail‑oriented and eager to learn in a fast‑paced environment.
