Position Overview
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for the support of the day-to-day human resources operations of the corporate and BELFOR field operations.
Key Responsibilities- Support in the onboarding process by providing support to local offices, administering pre-employment testing, working within the ATS and HRIS systems, and processing paperwork.
- Complete I-9 forms for new hires and maintain I-9 records.
- Make employment-related decisions based on background and drug screening results for new hires and rehires.
- Assist in the exiting process by processing separation documents and responding to unemployment claims.
- Conduct exit interviews with separating employees.
- Maintain human resource information system records and compile reports from the database as needed.
- Respond to employee inquiries via phone, email, and responding to the HR department mail and email inboxes.
- Participate in employee relations issues and provide counsel to field offices.
- Manage employee suggestion program.
- Perform compliance audits and monitoring.
- Reconcile department bills and invoicing.
- Prepare employee communications and organize employee events.
- Respond to employee document and file requests such as subpoenas, etc.
- Support HR Director and other HR team members as needed.
- Complete various other HR projects as assigned.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of customer service principles and practices.
- Work under time constraints to meet specific timelines.
- Maintain attention to detail and a keen sense of safeguarding other people’s property and information.
- Attend BELFOR-sponsored operations and safety training courses as required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of Human Resources Principles and compliance.
- Basic knowledge of HRIS/HCM and ATS systems (ADP Preferred).
- Ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize.
- Self-starter and able to complete tasks with little instruction.
- Continuous improvement, “can-do,” and team player mindset.
- Ability to meet critical timelines and time constraints.
- High level of confidentiality, trust, and transparency.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Occasional lifting from 5-40 lbs, unassisted (from 0-15% of the time).
- Sitting for extended periods of time.
- Manual dexterity needed for keyboarding and other repetitive tasks.
- The ability to bend, crouch, or stand as necessary.

- Acts as employee relations specialist. Responds to employee relation issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations and civil rights complaints.
- Coaches, counsels and guides managers before executing employee disciplinary actions.
