Brook Street Social Care are recruiting an experienced Team Leader to join an established children’s residential care provider operating across Birmingham.
We would also love to hear from experienced Senior Residential Support Workers who are already leading shifts and supporting staff and are ready to progress into a Team Leader position.
The RoleAs Team Leader, you will take responsibility for leading shifts, supporting the residential team and helping ensure children and young people receive safe, consistent and high-quality care.
Your responsibilities will include:- Leading shifts and supporting the day-to-day running of the home
- Supervising, mentoring and supporting Residential Support Workers
- Delegating duties and promoting good professional practice
- Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
- Supporting young people with emotional, behavioural and trauma-related needs
- Managing challenging situations and supporting effective de-escalation
- Ensuring care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support plans are followed
- Maintaining accurate records, incident reports and safeguarding documentation
- Working alongside social workers, education professionals and other agencies
- Supporting management with Ofsted compliance and Children’s Homes Regulations
- Deputising for senior management when required
- NVQ Level 3 or Level 4 in Residential Childcare, Health & Social Care or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year’s senior experience within a children’s residential home
- Experience leading shifts and supporting or supervising staff
- Strong safeguarding and child protection knowledge
- Experience supporting children with emotional and behavioural needs
- Confident leadership and communication skills
- Full UK Driving Licence – Essential
- Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, sleep-ins and Bank Holidays
- Approximately 11 shifts per month
