Are you an experienced maintenance professional who takes pride in high standards, compliance and creating a safe, well-maintained environment?
We are seeking an experienced Property Manager to oversee the maintenance and physical operation of Aloft by Marriott Birmingham Eastside and The Eastside Rooms. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in maintaining our hotel and conference venue to the highest quality, cost and brand standards, while ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable experience for our guests.
About the RoleAs Property Manager, you will be responsible for the effective day-to-day management of the property's maintenance and physical operations across Aloft Hotel and The Eastside Rooms. You will report to the Director of Operations and work closely with managers and colleagues across all departments to ensure the property operates safely, efficiently and to the required company and brand standards.
You will lead the maintenance team, support the smooth running of the property and take a proactive approach to maintaining and improving our facilities, while contributing to the overall guest experience.
Key Responsibilities- You will be responsible for supervising and coordinating all maintenance tasks within the hotel, including repairs, upgrades, and preventive maintenance. Ensuring that all areas of the property, from guest rooms to common areas, meet the required brand and operational standards.
- You will be trusted to oversee the maintenance and safe operation of hotel systems, equipment and facilities, while ensuring compliance with health & safety, fire safety and relevant legal requirements.
- You will conduct regular inspections of the hotel to proactively identify any maintenance issues or potential problems, helping to prevent disruption, costly repairs and impact on hotel operations.
- You will work closely with other departments, such as housekeeping, front office, conference and events and food and beverage to respond to maintenance requests and resolve issues quickly, ensuring guest comfort and a consistently high-quality experience.
- You will coordinate and supervise contractors, manage maintenance supplies and contracts, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard.
You’ll have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Maintenance role at managerial level, preferably within a hotel or events establishment, but this is not essential. You will have experience in one or more building trades and the skills to conduct first-level fault finding. You’ll be able to lead on green and sustainable initiatives, acting as the hotel Energy Champion and supporting energy efficiency across the property.
You’ll also engage with company and brand standards, policies and initiatives at all times.
