Our services are used to assist with permit and planning consent compliance, investigations for new development, and to support operational condition monitoring.
The Cawood Group have an exciting opportunity for 2 new roles as Construction Environmental Monitoring Technicians, on a permanent full‑time basis based in the West Midlands.
Working as part of a team, the successful candidates will be primarily involved in a prestigious, long‑term infrastructure project.
Responsibilities- Conduct routine environmental monitoring and sampling in accordance with company protocols, quality assurance requirements and client contract specifications.
- Assist with the management of methods to be used on‑site and instigate new services aligned with promoting the Enitial brand.
- Assist projects and liaise with the Project Manager, BET Project Coordinator, Site Managers, Data Analyst and Client to ensure projects are implemented positively, professionally and in line with British guidance or client requirements.
- Provide a reliable, efficient, and professional level of service to our clients.
- Manage data accurately and in line with client/company requirements.
- Report data to Data Analysts timely and in the correct format.
- Maintain safety at the forefront of field works, proactively reporting accidents and near misses straightaway to the Project Manager and client in line with company accreditation and policy.
- Liaise with laboratories and couriers, ensuring samples taken in the field are always compliant.
- Provide routine company admin through to central systems including expenses and vehicle checks on a daily, weekly & monthly basis.
- Assist with on‑site training of new employees, providing proactive support and ensuring their onboarding is friendly, engaging and inspiring.
- Travel as required and work site‑based sometimes in challenging weather conditions.
- Safety‑critical medical certificate (provided) and passing Client onboarding processes and competency card.
- Minimum 2 years field‑based environmental testing experience and knowledge or specialist project service‑related experience.
- Scientific degree (Environmental Science, Earth Sciences, etc.) preferred, but not essential.
- Proven track record in communication and teamwork.
- Skills in Microsoft Office.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- CSCS preferred (must be willing to work towards).
- SSSTS preferred (must be willing to work towards).
