Junior Service Engineer - Fire & Security (Entry Level)

I am representing an excellent opportunity on behalf of my client, who is looking to bring an enthusiastic Junior Service Engineer into the Fire & Security industry. This role is ideal for someone who is new to fire & security but has a practical background and wants strong training, development, and a long-term career path.

The Role

You will support experienced engineers with servicing and maintaining fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV, and access control systems. This is a hands-on position designed to give you the grounding to become a fully qualified Service Engineer.

Desirable Background (Not Essential)

My client is very open to people entering the industry, but the following backgrounds or skills would be highly desirable:

Electrical Improver / Electrician experience

1st fix or 2nd fix experience

Pulling cables / cable routing

Cable terminations

PATCH PANEL / patching experience

Knowledge of CAT5 / CAT6 and basic network infrastructure

General data cabling experience

Able to use hand tools and power tools confidently

Experience with trunking, tray, conduit, and basket installations

ECS/CSCS card

IPAF / PASMA certifications

These backgrounds transfer extremely well into fire & security.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Support senior engineers with servicing and maintenance

Assist with system testing, inspections, and compliance checks

Help with basic fault-finding

Carry out cabling and installation prep as required

Complete simple service reports

Travel across London & surrounding areas (vehicle provided after training)
