Birmingham, West Midlands Salary: £42,000 per annum (depending on experience) Contract Type:
Full-time, Permanent About the Role We are seeking an experienced and proactive Fire Alarm Engineer to join our growing team based in Birmingham. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, servicing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems across commercial, industrial, and residential sites. Youll be working both independently and as part of a team to ensure all systems are installed and maintained to the highest standards, complying with current regulations and health & safety guidelines.
Key Responsibilities Install, maintain, and commission a wide range of fire alarm systems (addressable and conventional). Carry out reactive fault-finding and emergency callouts. Complete all necessary documentation and service reports accurately. Ensure work complies with BS5839 standards and relevant regulations. Deliver excellent customer service and communicate effectively with clients and colleagues. Identify and suggest system improvements or upgrades when required. Participate in the on-call rota where necessary.
Skills & Experience Required Proven experience working as a Fire Alarm Engineer (minimum 2 years preferred). Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems such as Advanced, Kentec, Morley, C-Tec, or Gent. Understanding of BS5839 and other relevant fire safety standards. Full UK driving licence. Good IT literacy for digital reporting. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Desirable qualifications: FIA training modules (Units 16).
Electrical qualifications (e.g., Level 3 NVQ or equivalent).
Experience with emergency lighting or security systems.
