Salary: £30,000 - £45,000 DOE

Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (40 hours per week)

We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated Commercial Air Conditioning Service & Breakdown Engineer to carry out service, maintenance, fault-finding, and breakdown repair across commercial and domestic properties. This is a mobile role requiring regular travel across the West & East Midlands, with occasional wider UK coverage. Flexibility, professionalism, and a strong focus on first-time fix rates and customer service are essential.

• Service, Maintenance & Repairs
• Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and safety checks on air conditioning systems.
• Attend breakdowns to diagnose faults and complete repairs in a timely and cost‑effective manner.
• Use technical knowledge to deliver high first-time-fix results and excellent customer care.
• Make informed decisions when job requirements differ from original work orders and report changes to management.
• Communicate clearly with customers when repairs cannot be completed on the first visit and arrange follow-up work.

• Complete daily responsive maintenance tasks as instructed.
• Direct and support assistants in the assembly or installation of systems or components.
• Liaise with management and clients to ensure work is completed efficiently and to required standards.
• Ensure all works comply with current industry codes, regulations, and safe working practices.
• Follow all client site rules and regulations.
• Adopt a "best value, cost-effective" approach when sourcing/purchasing materials.

• Accurately complete all required paperwork and return it promptly.
• Ensure all training and qualifications remain up to date.
• Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in clean, safe, and serviceable condition.
• Participate in site audits, vehicle audits, post-work inspections, quotations, and engineer meetings.
• Comply with all company policies, procedures, and health & safety requirements.

• Actively identify and report opportunities for additional works or improvements.
• Participate in the company's out-of-hours emergency call-out rota when required.

• Recognised air conditioning apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
• Strong commercial air conditioning experience, including fault finding, servicing, repairs, and maintenance.
• Competent in the use of test equipment including electrical multi-meters.
• Flexible approach to working hours and travel.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
• Willingness to undertake additional training and development.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Basic IT literacy.
