Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Location: Covering commercial properties across RAF Lakenheath (IP27 9PP
), RAF Feltwell and RAF Mildenhall. Brandon, Suffolk
Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30AM to 4:30PM, with an on call rota of 1 week in 5 (with standby fee and on call payments)
Job OverviewWithin VIVO we are currently recruiting for an Electrician to undertake planned preventative maintenance tasks on commercial properties across RAF Lakenheath, RAF Mildenhall and RAF Feltwell. Working within a team of 8 other electricians, your primary responsibility will be to undertake PPM and reactive maintenance on commercial and single occupancy dormitory buildings, ensuring that the electrical systems within the properties are safe for continued use and compliant with legislation.
You will also react to call‑ins, which may include tasks such as minor new works and installations (e.g., plug sockets), emergency light checks and distribution board checks.
As you will be working in commercial properties, you will interact with occupants on a day‑to‑day basis, so it is ideal that you have worked in a customer‑facing role previously.
This role will involve participating in an on‑call rota to cover emergency call outs during non‑core hours. You will also be provided with a work van that can be privately taxed for personal use.
Within this position there will be many opportunities for development, including courses and other up‑skilling that will develop your experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities- Undertake planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on commercial and single occupancy dormitory buildings.
- React to call‑ins, including minor new works and installations such as plug sockets.
- Perform emergency light checks and distribution board checks.
- Participate in an on‑call rota to cover emergency call outs during non‑core hours.
- Maintain electrical systems to comply with legislation and ensure safety.
- Hold a City & Guilds Parts 1 & 2 in Electrical Installation.
- Have previously undertaken works in a commercial environment.
- Experience doing Fixed Wire Inspections in a commercial context is highly desirable.
- Pass City & Guilds 18th edition (C&G 18th).
- Hold a full, clean UK driving licence for travel between locations.
- Be independent, self‑motivated, and able to work largely lone.
- Have strong communication skills for a customer‑facing role.
- Experience operating within MOD or Construction/Property Maintenance environment is desirable.
- Must be able to pass BPSS Clearance.
