About the Role

As a Multi Skilled Operative, you will be the frontline problem‑solver, trusted to take on a variety of repairs, maintenance and installation work across MOD domestic accommodation. Every day is different, and you will have the freedom and responsibility to get the job done right. Your work will include carrying out repairs and maintenance across plumbing, minor building works, grounds work, drainage, plastering, tiling, decorating and other general trades.

You will deliver both planned and reactive maintenance with a focus on achieving a Right First Time outcome. You will work independently to identify the best repair solutions while maintaining high safety standards.

You will be expected to support colleagues with your technical expertise and use electronic and paper‑based systems to log work and materials accurately. Building trust with families, clients and suppliers is central to this role, as is providing excellent customer service. Flexibility will be important, including taking part in a standby rota for out‑of‑hours cover when required.

What you'll need

We are seeking adaptable, hands‑on professionals who take pride in their workmanship and are ready to deliver exceptional service. You will have a full UK driving licence and proven experience in multi‑trade work in domestic housing, preferably with plumbing as your core trade. The ability to work independently, solve problems and maintain a customer‑first mindset is essential. You will need to be flexible, reliable and ready to adapt to different types of work and changing schedules.

Strong communication skills and a professional approach are also key to success in this role.
