AOV & Smoke Vent Engineer

• Install, service, maintain, and commission AOV (Automatic Opening Vent), smoke ventilation, and fire alarm systems.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs.
• Diagnose and rectify faults on smoke control, AOV, and fire alarm systems.
• Perform system testing, inspections, and commissioning in accordance with relevant British Standards and fire safety regulations.
• Complete service reports, maintenance records, and certification documentation.
• Liaise professionally with clients, contractors, and site personnel.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
• Participate in emergency call‑out support when required.

• Proven experience working with AOV, smoke ventilation, and fire alarm systems.
• Strong fault‑finding and troubleshooting abilities.
• Good understanding of smoke control systems, actuators, control panels, and fire alarm equipment.
• Knowledge of relevant standards including BS 5839 and smoke ventilation regulations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

• Experience or knowledge of CCTV systems.
• Experience with door entry and access control systems.
• Additional fire and security industry qualifications would be advantageous.
