At British Gas, our mission is to supply energy and support the UK in achieving Net Zero. We use smart technology such as thermostats, heat pumps, solar panels and EV chargers to make energy cheaper and easier for our customers.

We're looking for skilled Electricians to join our Field Engineering team. Your focus will be on delivering safe, high‑quality electrical work in domestic properties, ensuring customers receive same‑day fixes and maintaining the highest electrical safety standards.

Base salary: £41,389

Uncapped OTE: £51,389 – realistic through our field reward scheme.

As an Electrician, you’ll use your technical expertise to deliver safe, high‑quality electrical work in domestic properties, including:

• Fault finding and repairs
• Electrical installations and upgrades
• Full and partial rewires
• Ensuring all work is completed safely, compliantly, and right the first time

You will combine strong technical capability with excellent customer service, diagnosing issues efficiently, achieving first‑time fixes, and providing professional advice to customers where appropriate.

While EV charging and other Net‑Zero technologies are not a current responsibility, they are part of our future. We offer opportunities for electricians to train, upskill and gain additional qualifications in emerging technologies as the role evolves.

• Minimum 2 years’ experience working as a qualified electrician
• City & Guilds 2365 Parts 1 & 2 (or equivalent), culminating in a Level 3 Technical Certificate, including the NET AM2
• City & Guilds 2382 – B.S. 7671 IET Wiring Regulations
• Proven experience working in the electrical industry
• City & Guilds 2391/52 (or equivalent) – highly desirable
• Willingness to undertake future training in Net‑Zero technologies
