Salary: £42,000 per annum + company van + paid overtime + benefits.
Our client provides specialist monitoring equipment to businesses in manufacturing, fast food, and 24/7 operational facilities. They are expanding and require an Installation Electrician to support customers in Birmingham, with potential call-outs to other cities and occasional overnight stays. The role suits a Field Service Engineer / Electrician with experience installing equipment into commercial properties; transferable skills include metering and control systems, sensors/sensing systems, surveillance equipment, and monitoring equipment.
Responsibilities- Willing to support other regions around the UK which may include overnight stays
- Maintain van stock and site readiness
- Install, repair, and maintain metering and control systems including wiring, circuits, and fixtures in accordance with electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to plan and execute electrical installations and repairs accurately
- Inspect electrical systems, components, and equipment to identify defects, faults, or malfunctions, and diagnose issues using testing equipment and tools
- Troubleshoot electrical problems, such as power outages, short circuits, and voltage fluctuations, and implement corrective actions to restore functionality
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks
- Test electrical systems and components for proper operation, voltage, current, and resistance, using multimeters, voltage testers, and other diagnostic tools
- Provide technical guidance and support to customers' engineers
- Maintain accurate records of electrical work performed, including work orders, maintenance logs, and inspection reports, documenting repairs, modifications, and upgrades
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, following proper procedures for handling tools, equipment, and hazardous materials, and adhering to safety protocols at all times
- UK Driving Licence (required)
- 18th Edition (required)
- Experience working with 3 phase power
- Happy to potentially work in confined spaces or at height
- Inspection and testing - 2391 or 2394/2395 (preferred)
