About the RoleThe purpose of the Security Service Engineer - Social Housing role is to install, maintain, and repair physical security systems to ensure they operate reliably. These engineers protect lives and property by keeping critical infrastructure—such as intruder alarms, CCTV, access controls, and fire systems—fully operational and compliant with industry standards.
What You'll Be Doing- Servicing of planned maintenance, Reactive & Remedial Calls across the customer base in line with the current British Standards and current legislation.
- Effectively communicate with the customer and the details of their Service / Fault / Remedial visit advising of the outcome and any additional works required.
- Work closely with the admin team to make sure jobs are attended to and any further visits/actions are communicated correctly.
- Certifying that all works comply with regulatory and insurance requirements (e.g., NSI or SSAIB standards).
- Proven experience within Security industry.
- Extensive Intruder system knowledge (Galaxy, Menvier, Pyronix).
- Door entry & Access control knowledge.
- CCTV knowledge both analogue & IP.
- Extensive experience of Delivering Service Related Activities (Maintenance, Call Outs & Remedial Works across Fire, Security & associated disciplines).
- A systematic approach to solving complex problems.
- Highly effective verbal/written communication.
- Ability to work well on your own or as part of a team.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
