Installation Electrician

Our client provides specialist monitoring equipment to businesses in multiple sectors such as manufacturing, fast‑food chains, and 24/7 operational facilities. They are looking for an Installation Electrician to support customers in Birmingham, with occasional call‑outs to other UK cities and overnight stays.

Candidate Background
  • UK Driving Licence (required)
  • 18th Edition (required)
  • Experience working with 3‑phase power
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces or at height
  • Inspection and testing – 2391 or 2394/5 (preferred)
Key Responsibilities
  • Support other UK regions, including overnight stays
  • Maintain van stock and site readiness
  • Install, repair and maintain metering and control systems, wiring, circuits and fixtures in accordance with electrical codes, regulations and safety standards
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and technical drawings to plan and execute electrical installations accurately
  • Inspect electrical systems, components and equipment to identify defects, faults or malfunctions, and diagnose issues using testing equipment and tools
  • Truss electrical problems such as power outages, short circuits, voltage fluctuations and implement corrective actions to restore functionality
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks
  • Test electrical systems and components for proper operation, voltage, current and resistance using multimeters, voltage testers and other diagnostic tools
  • Provide technical guidance and support to customer engineers
  • Maintain accurate records of electrical work performed, including work orders, maintenance logs and inspection reports
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment, following proper procedures for handling tools, equipment and hazardous materials and adhering to safety protocols at all times
