Plant Fix UK is growing, and we are looking for an experienced Mobile Plant Inspector to help develop our national plant inspection and maintenance service.
You will carry out plant inspections, thorough examinations and safety assessments across customer sites, helping customers maintain safe, compliant and reliable machinery.
This is not purely a checklist or reporting role. You will also complete minor repairs and adjustments where appropriate, and provide practical support to our Mobile Plant Engineers during busy periods, annual leave, or periods of operational pressure.
You will be trusted to manage your own workload, make informed technical decisions and represent Plant Fix professionally. You will have the independence of working for yourself, without the financial risk, paperwork or uncertainty.

Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Mobile Plant Inspector, you will:
Carry out statutory inspections and thorough examinations on plant machinery, lifting equipment and associated attachments.
Complete LOLER inspections and thorough examinations where suitably trained and competent.
Undertake PUWER inspections
, plant safety assessments and machinery condition checks.
Inspect equipment including excavators, dumpers, rollers, telehandlers, loading shovels, powered access equipment and attachments.
Identify defects, developing faults, safety concerns and areas of non-compliance.
Produce accurate, professional and clearly written inspection reports.
Explain findings and provide practical recommendations to customers.
Complete minor repairs, adjustments and remedial work where safe and appropriate.
Support Mobile Plant Engineers with servicing, breakdowns and repairs when required.
Liaise with customers, manufacturers, dealers, engineers and the wider Plant Fix team.
Maintain your vehicle, tooling, inspection equipment, stock and calibration records.
Represent Plant Fix professionally at every customer site.
Work with the Divisional Director and wider Tyrefix Group to improve technical standards and inspection processes.
Essential Experience and SkillsYou will need:
Practical experience working with plant machinery, construction equipment, agricultural machinery, powered access equipment or similar.
Previous experience completing plant inspections, machinery examinations, safety inspections or equipment condition assessments.
Good working knowledge of plant safety, defect identification and relevant health and safety requirements.
The mechanical knowledge and practical ability to complete minor repairs and remedial work.
Confidence producing clear, detailed and accurate inspection reports.
Strong attention to detail and high safety standards.
The ability to organise your own workload and work effectively with minimal supervision.
A professional and confident approach when dealing with customers.
A full UK driving licence.
Desirable Qualifications and ExperienceThe following would be advantageous:
LOLER and PUWER inspection experience.
Thorough Examination training or qualifications.
Experience inspecting lifting equipment or powered access machinery.
An NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Plant Maintenance, Engineering or a similar technical discipline.
