BriefMobile Fabric Engineer needed for a well-known, large Facilities Management organisation based in Birmingham who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Fabric Engineer that takes pride in their work with an in-depth knowledge of planned and reactive fabric maintenance, meeting KPIs and SLAs and completing remedial works.
The successful candidate would desirably have relevant experience in fabric maintenance in a commercial setting and have a keen interest in fabric engineering. If you have a relevant qualification or apprenticeship that would be a plus!

Some of the main duties of the Mobile Fabric Engineer will include:
- Carry out planned and reactive fabric maintenance across all building areas, including joinery, basic plumbing, painting, plastering, tiling, flooring, roofing, fence fitting, ground repair, door repair and general building repairs
- Complete minor repairs and remedial works to doors, windows, locks, ironmongery, ceilings, walls, fixtures and fittings
- Deliver Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks to required specifications and within set time frames
- Respond promptly to reactive tasks to reduce disruption and meet contractual KPIs and SLAs
- Identify building fabric defects, recommend remedial actions and provide accurate material lists and timescales
- Ensure building fabric assets are kept safe, secure and in good condition across all sites
- Participate in the on‑call rota
- Desirable Post‑apprenticeship experience
- Strong knowledge of building fabric systems
- (Desirable) Recognised apprenticeship (City & Guilds or equivalent)
- Valid driving licence
- Experience in schools, PFI or public‑sector environments
- Knowledge of associated M&E systems (Desirable)
This role includes a DBS Enhanced with Barred Lists, therefore ability to pass is essential.
