The Role We are currently recruiting for an experienced Refrigeration Service Engineer to join a growing service team covering customers and equipment throughout the M25 and surrounding areas. This is a field-based position offering excellent variety, autonomy and the opportunity to work across a wide range of commercial refrigeration systems . You will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive service, maintenance and repair work, providing a professional service to customers across the region.
Key Responsibilities Carry out reactive repairs and planned maintenance on commercial refrigeration equipment. Diagnose and repair faults on cold rooms, display cabinets, chillers, freezers and associated refrigeration systems . Work safely and in accordance with current F-Gas and health & safety regulations . Complete accurate service reports and job records using digital systems. Liaise directly with customers, providing a professional and efficient service.
Identify faults and recommend appropriate remedial works where required. Participate in a 1-in-5 on-call rota , attending emergency breakdowns when required. Maintain company vehicles, tools and equipment to a high standard. Travel throughout the M25 and surrounding areas as required. Overtime & On-Call Overtime paid at 1.5x after 42.5 hours per week. Double time on Sundays and Bank Holidays. 1-in-5 on-call rota with additional payments for emergency call-outs.
Door-to-door travel paid. About You The successful candidate will have proven experience working as a Refrigeration Service Engineer, ideally within a commercial or retail refrigeration environment. You will ideally have: NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, or equivalent. F-Gas / Safe Handling of Refrigerants qualification. R290 qualification. CO2 refrigeration experience/qualification. CSCS qualification. Full UK driving licence.
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills. Excellent customer service and communication skills. The ability to work independently and manage your own workload. A flexible approach to travel and out-of-hours call-outs. Package & Benefits Competitive salary depending on experience. Company van and fuel card. Company tools and uniform. Mobile phone and tablet.
