Responsibilities- Perform audit testing and analysis for International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) and International Registration Plan (IRP).
- Perform assigned audit work in accordance with all applicable professional standards and audit programs.
- Determine and apply audit testing and analysis, expanding testing as necessary to develop opinions, recommendations and conclusions regarding areas reviewed.
- Participate in all phases of the audit involving research, analysis, and information gathering to determine program compliance, adequacy of internal controls, financial reporting, and tax compliance.
- Review quarterly tax and annual mileage reports as supported by mileage and fuel documents to determine whether adjustments are required.
- Participate in the appeal process, representing NDDOT in pre‑hearing conferences and requested appeal hearings.
- Conduct various audit work as deemed necessary by management.
- Provide suggestions and updates for the audit program and workpaper templates.
- Attend meetings.
- Complete all continuous training requirements, including mandatory NDDOT trainings and an additional 20 hours of continuing education related to IFTA/IRP, auditing, or professional development.
- Assist in the training and mentorship of new employees and interns.
- Perform miscellaneous administrative duties.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, public administration, statistics, economics, or a related field.
- Two years of compliance, audit, or other applicable work experience.
Employment of the selected candidate will be contingent upon satisfactorily completing the interview process, background check, and reference check.
