Frontier Precision is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant who thrives on precision, ownership, and continuous improvement. This role is ideal for a strong accounting professional who enjoys building reliable processes, maintaining financial accuracy across a multi-state organization, and contributing to a growing employee-owned company.
This position reports to the Controller and plays a key role in ensuring the integrity of our financial operations. While the immediate focus is strong transactional execution, there is clear opportunity for expanded responsibility and leadership growth over time.
Founded in 1988 in Bismarck, ND, Frontier Precision is an employee-owned company serving professionals in survey, mapping, engineering, construction, GIS, drones/UAS, forensics, law enforcement, forestry, water resources, mosquito/vector control, and natural resources across the western United States.

Key Responsibilities Core Accounting Functions- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and verify deposits
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and support month-end close processes
- Process and manage accounts payable, including invoice coding, expense reports, and vendor account setup
- Maintain strong vendor relationships and resolve discrepancies promptly
- Maintain general ledger accuracy across multi-state operations
- Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual sales tax returns across multiple jurisdictions
- Support annual audit by gathering documentation and working directly with outside auditors
- Ensure adherence to GAAP and internal accounting policies
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows and internal controls
- Assist in maintaining and refining accounting procedures
- Contribute to system and process enhancements as the company grows
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- 3+ years of accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Experience with sales tax reporting and compliance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience with Net Suite ERP
- Process improvement involvement
- Distribution, technology, or service-based industry background
- Takes ownership of work and follows issues through to resolution
- Values accuracy and strong documentation
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating with leadership
- Sees accounting as both a technical function and a business driver
