General Summary or Purpose
The Accountant Analyst position reviews, evaluates, analyzes, and oversees revenue accounting practices and procedures to ensure proper accounting controls for enhancing revenue operations across the court system.

- Adapts to writing detailed accounting reports, statements, documents, or correspondence.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field and at least 3 years of related experience.
- Any combination of education, training, or experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully complete the major responsibilities and essential functions may be substituted for the degree and experience requirements.
- Valid driver’s license or evidence of equivalent mobility.
- Review, evaluate, and analyze revenue accounting procedures of all courts covered under the system.
- Develop policies and procedures to enhance internal accounting controls for safeguarding court revenues.
- Analyze revenue accounting systems and recommend changes to ensure internal controls meet generally accepted accountability methods.
- Recommend software enhancements or changes and collaborate with staff to implement necessary modifications.
- Serve on management committees responsible for developing system-wide management and accounting procedures.
- Develop and analyze district court statistics to assure appropriate accounting of funds and case filings; create charts and spreadsheets to manage court revenues.
- Provide training to court and administrative personnel on implementation of management and accounting procedures for consistent treatment, documentation, and reporting of revenues.
- Conduct accounting audits/reviews, evaluate district court operations, and resolve problems in the implementation of revenue accounting policies.
- Reconcile cash accounting records.
- Oversee payroll and benefits, assist with benefit and payroll entries and changes, track and reconcile monthly payroll changes, and manage the salary administration system.
- Perform other duties of comparable level or type as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Considerable knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices, public accounting, audit, and relevant laws and policies pertaining to judicial fiscal matters.
- Strong understanding of accounting software and systems.
- Ability to interpret and apply laws, rules, policies, and guidelines related to business and accounting practices.
- Effective communication skills with individuals at all organizational levels.
- Proficiency in spreadsheet design and automated accounting software systems.
- Capacity to plan, organize, and implement responsibilities independently within delegated authority.
- Competence in writing clear, concise, and detailed accounting reports and correspondence.
- Typical physical demands include grasping, seeing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing, and light lifting up to 10 lbs. Work is performed in a comfortable office environment and may require some travel.
