Role Summary

The Superintendent 1 will plan, manage, and execute all aspects of assigned projects. Responsibilities include managing materials and equipment, assisting with people management, ensuring documentation completeness, and meeting project goals to achieve timely, profitable completion.

Key Role Responsibilities – Core
  • Lead all aspects of the company’s safety culture, creating awareness and mentoring others.
  • Manage subcontractors and organize overall job workflow.
  • Oversee company staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and programs such as Safety, Quality, and EEO for small or large projects.
  • Develop work plans for subcontractors and self-performed work.
  • Coordinate and manage care, custody, and control of the project site.
  • Lead daily stand‑up and weekly trade meetings.
  • Attend and participate in progress or project OAC meetings.
  • Create, manage, adjust, and implement the project’s schedule in conjunction with the Project Manager.
  • Track and monitor project budget and costs using the project management system’s reports.
  • Communicate key project information to owners, design team, governing authorities, subcontractors, suppliers, and other departments.
  • Maintain project filing and documentation organization, updating drawings, logs, diaries, and inspection notebooks.
  • Approve or record unit cost information for weekly reports and complete daily reports, logs, and tracking reports.
  • Evaluate progress on self‑perform work, making adjustments as needed.
  • Manage material and equipment needs for the project.
  • Support MOC (Material and Other Costs) and DLSC procurement and approval processes.
  • Assist in selecting formwork, tools, and equipment necessary for self‑perform operations.
  • Approve timecard submissions, ensuring accurate hours and proper cost codes.
  • Ensure quality compliance through specifications, quality standards, in‑house QA/QC, and external resources.
  • Support project closeouts, supervising pre‑punch activities and coordinating with owners, architects, and authorities.
  • Understand project pursuit processes and methodology.
  • Collaborate with field operations leadership and project team to develop and adjust the project pre‑plan throughout the lifecycle.
  • Partner with field leadership to establish field staffing for assigned projects.
  • Identify schedule and cost implications of project changes with project management.
  • Participate in negotiation processes with owners and architects for project changes.
  • Prepare and present for all project review meetings, including monthly reviews.
  • Participate in project buy‑out meetings with subcontractors and vendors.
  • Apply terms and conditions of owner and subcontractor contracts for the project.
  • Recruit and retain top talent.
  • Promote a culture of diversity and inclusion, ensuring positive implementation of non‑discrimination policies.

  • Intermediate crane flagging and rigging knowledge.
  • Document change understanding and impact assessment on schedule.
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field (preferred).
Experience
  • 3+ years construction experience.
  • 1+ years field supervision experience.
Working Environment
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
