Description:

KFYR TV is seeking a full-time evening streaming Meteorologist who can learn from a 7-time Emmy award-winning chief. Our weather is always a headline, so there are endless opportunities to fill in on air, go live in the field, and cover all four seasons. Strong digital first mindset is desired. Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Deliver dynamic weather forecasts:
  Command the screen and digital platforms with engaging, accurate weather presentations during our evening newscasts and streaming segments.
• Host interactive CTV streams:
  Create and lead compelling live weather shows for our digital audience, responding to comments and engaging viewers directly.
• Generate digital-first content:
  Produce captivating weather updates, explainers, and behind-the-scenes glimpses for our website, social media, and streaming apps.
• On occasion, fill in for other newscasts, so this individual must have some flexibility in their schedule.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• A good news room citizen who works well with others.
• Bachelor's degree in meteorology, broadcast meteorology, or atmospheric sciences.
• Experience using the Weather Company (WSI) Max computer system preferred.
• Will consider helping the candidate pursue the AMS/CBM or NWA broadcast seal.
