GOLF SHOP FACILITY ATTENDANT

JOB DESCRIPTION JOB INFORMATION
  • Classification: Part-Time I, II or III Hourly
  • Pay Range: Pay is determined on an annual basis by the Board of Park Commissioners
  • Supervisor: Works under the general and detailed supervision of the Facility Specialist and Golf Operations Manager
JOB SUMMARY

Provide prompt and courteous service to the public and ensure daily golf operations are conducted efficiently and accurately. The position requires an understanding of player check-in procedures, player and group requirements, golf cart regulations, and the operation of the driving range, mini links and Fore Seasons Center (as applicable). Employees will utilize Golf Now One  (G1) software for tee sheet management and point of sale transactions.

DUTIES AND TASKS

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work to be performed by the individual within this classification. Essential Functions

  • Assist customers with check-in, transactions, and point of sale operations; accurately process payment and make correct change.
  • Communicate daily rules, policies and instructions to players.
  • Coordinate with outside service staff, starters, and player assistants to help ensure smooth daily operations during assigned shifts.
  • Maintain cleanliness of outside service areas; ensure driving range is free of baskets and assist with range ball collection at Fore Seasons Center (if applicable).
  • Monitor the 1st and 10th tees and notify outside staff when range ball collection or assistance is needed.
  • Maintain awareness of operational equipment and report any functional or safety concerns to supervisors in a timely manner.
  • Follow all BPRD safety policies and procedures outlined in the Risk Management Handbook.
  • Complete all necessary payroll forms and utilize the electronic time and attendance timekeeping system.
  • Understand and follow the standard operating procedures outlined in the employee manual.
  • Understand and follow the Human Resource Policy and Procedure Handbook items related to this position.
  • Represent BPRD in a professional and positive manner. BPRD issues clothing and equipment to employees and the issued items are to be used in an appropriate manner, not inconsistent with the image BPRD wishes to convey to the public.

Other Duties and Tasks

  • Inform supervisor prior to running out of supplies or when operational needs arise.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with facility staff, patrons, groups, associations, agencies and individuals.
  • Arrive at scheduled time and be ready to work. Absences must have prior approval by the supervisor.
  • Responsible for personal and job site neatness and communicating repair needs to supervisor.
  • Perform a variety of tasks that range from routine customer service to basic operational support including cleaning restrooms, work areas, golf carts, and windows, emptying garbage cans, gathering and cleaning range balls, and ensuring the highest standards of neatness in all areas.
  • Other duties as assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
  • Basic understanding of golf course operations, customer service, and retail experience.
  • Ability to provide high level customer service to all consumers; work well with others and communicate effectively with others.
  • Ability to prepare written reports and to report repair needs to supervisor.
  • Must maintain a fitness level acceptable to perform the skills required of the position.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 30 pounds alone or heavier with other employees.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Staff uniforms are required during all shifts.
  • Work is a combination of indoors and outdoors based on assigned role and daily responsibilities and will require working in all weather conditions.
  • Work environment includes intense public interactions and periodic interruptions.
  • Must be able to stand for 6-8 hours at a time.
