About the Position
Description
A hospital-based Interventional Radiology program in Bismarck, ND is seeking locum coverage for ongoing 2026–2027 needs. The role includes an 8-hour on-site procedural day (typically 8a–4p), evening call coverage (4p–8a), and 24-hour weekend call responsibilities.
The provider must be experienced in comprehensive general IR procedures. Stroke thrombectomy capability is preferred but not required.

Job Responsibilities
Perform general interventional radiology procedures (10–15 cases per day average)
Provide weekday on-site IR coverage
Participate in evening and 24-hour weekend call rotation
Respond to emergency callback cases
Maintain accurate documentation in Epic EMR
Required Procedures
Must have experience performing (Yes/No documentation required at submission):
Diagnostic angiography (venous & arterial)
Angioplasty & stenting (venous & arterial)
Thrombolytic & embolization therapy
PICC lines & vascular access devices
Central lines & port insertions
IVC filters
TIPS
Biopsies (above/below diaphragm & bone)
Abscess drainage
Thoracentesis / Paracentesis
Myelography
Vertebroplasty
Uterine artery embolization
Y90 / TACE
Nephrostomy / ureteral stents
Cryoablation
Chest tube insertion
Gastrostomy tube placement
Preferred (not required):
Neuro stroke thrombectomy
Working Hours
8a–4p on-site coverage
Evening call: 4p–8a
24-hour weekend call
Ongoing 2026/2027 coverage
Average callback hours:
Weekday: ~2.5 hours
Weekend: ~1.3 hours

Broad-spectrum General IR experience
Emergency response capability
Strong procedural proficiency
Independent clinical judgment
Efficient workflow management
Credentialing timeframe: 60–90 days
Requirements

Board Certified – REQUIRED
ND License or IMLC – REQUIRED
Residency/Fellowship Training – REQUIRED
ACLS & BLS – REQUIRED
Clean Malpractice – Preferred
Availability at time of name clear – REQUIRED

Procedure checklist (Yes/No format) – REQUIRED
