External candidates may bring up to 17 years of contracted K‑12 teaching experience.
Job DescriptionThis position is responsible for providing direct, specially designed instruction to students in elementary school. It includes evaluation of students, writing IEPs, developing programming, collecting data and reporting progress.
To lead students toward the fulfillment of their potential for physical, intellectual, and social/emotional growth and maturation.
Qualifications- A valid ND teaching certificate
- Bachelor's degree
- Communicate and interact with students, parents, staff, and the community.
- Provide an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of children.
- Develop, select, and modify instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students.
- Plan and provide appropriate learning experiences for students.
- Monitor and evaluate student outcomes.
- Supervise students in a variety of school‑related settings.
- Maintain appropriate records and follow required procedures and practices.
- Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
- Prepare daily lesson plans that are organized and effective; plans must be complete enough so that a substitute teacher can take over the class if necessary.
- Strive to maintain and improve professional competence.
- Monitor appropriate use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated by the immediate supervisor.
- Prepare for assigned classes and demonstrate written evidence of preparation upon request of the immediate supervisor.
- Assist the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing student life and conduct, develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintain order in the classroom and on the campus in a fair and just manner.
- Takes necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Attend and participate in faculty meetings.
- Assist in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
- Establish and maintain cooperative relations with other staff members.
- Provide for one's own professional growth through an ongoing program of reading, workshops, seminars, conferences, and/or advanced coursework at institutions of higher learning complying with the Bismarck Public Schools professional growth program.
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: $53,713 to $79,872 Per Year
