NDDOT Hiring Salary: $6,228/ month
Manage and Inspect Highway Construction Projects.- Coordinate day-to-day activities on construction projects with contractors.
- Ensure all projects are in accordance with plans, specifications, and procedures.
- Prepare field reports and project documents.
- Maintain supervision on all work items through the duration of the project.
- Assist in payment for completed work being done by contractors.
- Collect approvals of construction materials used in construction work.
- Set horizontal and vertical alignment for highway construction. Document work as required.
- Provide training for technicians and temporary employees.
- Maintain Project Records.
- Prepare force account reports for machines and labor hours for work being completed.
- Check and/or approve of employees’ inspection reports, concrete test reports, lab reports, and provide guidance to subordinates on filling out necessary reports for the tests
- Oversee Inspection and Testing Construction Materials
- Assign staff to conduct moisture tests, moisture density tests. conduct sieve analysis on aggregates for asphalt and construction paving projects.
- Document all test results as required.
- Designs.
An associate degree in engineering or a related field and four years of related highway/transportation construction and engineering experience, OR six years of related highway/transportation construction and engineering experience.
A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field may substitute for the required work experience on a year for year basis.
Requires satisfactory completion of the interview process, verifiable record of satisfactory performance in previous employment, and job function screening.
