Industrial Wastewater Program Lead - Oil, Gas and Chemicals Practice

Overview

HDR is seeking an Industrial Wastewater (IWW) Program Lead for the Oil, Gas, and Chemicals Practice. The role requires extensive experience with industrial water/wastewater treatment systems in the Oil, Gas, and Chemicals industries and the ability to develop business and lead teams of engineers and designers on detailed design and owner’s engineer projects. The ideal candidate will have North American experience in Oil, Gas, and Chemical industries.

• Lead Business Development of IWW Services for the Oil, Gas, and Chemicals Practice in North America.
• Lead business development activities including proposal development, delivering technical presentations, pursuit interviews, and growing client relationships.
• Collaborate with other Business Development Teams.
• Serve as SME or technical advisor on strategic projects.
• Provide technical leadership for front-end projects, including business case studies and DBMs.
• Assist in client development and project positioning as a senior process engineering advisor.
• Participate in strategic planning and in setting annual and long-term goals for program and client development, community and industry involvement, project pursuits, and talent development.
• Conduct site visits to gather technical information, support construction and commissioning, and project closeout.
• Perform or oversee process design sizing and hydraulic calculations, mass balances, and sizing of water treatment systems.
• Develop design criteria, equipment and procurement specifications, studies, bid evaluations, and reports.
• Lead development of process flow diagrams, P&IDs, general arrangement drawings, piping arrangements, and installation details.
• Review equipment vendor and installation contractor proposals and submittals.
• Develop and execute QA/QC plans.
• Lead technical teams including engineers, EITs, designers, and drafters.
• Collaborate with project managers and clients to meet or exceed expectations.
• Develop water supply and discharge agreements and permits; coordinate with permitting authorities.
• Provide internal and external training on industrial process W/WW systems.
• Implement, monitor, and support company policies.
• Assist in selecting and developing technical personnel.
• Recommend facility standard monitoring systems, lab/chemical/reagent management, and staff training.
• Participate in industry conferences and publish technical papers as required.

• Process modeling experience.
• Existing relationships with industrial clients.
• Project engineering and management experience in a consulting or EPC firm.

• Bachelor's degree in a professional, architectural, engineering, or closely related field.
• 10 years of experience in related field.
• Professional engineering registration and related technical experience.
• Experience in development and management of diverse teams.
• Ability to work with regional directors, operations managers, technical directors, and marketing managers on business-class efforts.
• Commitment to quality and HDR values.

HDR provides a comprehensive benefits package that supports employee ownership, health, and success, including medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, and retirement benefits. The compensation range for this role is $170,000–$230,000 annually, depending on skills, experience, education and location. Details may vary by location.
