Summary of Work
As an entry level Environmental Engineer for the Air Quality Division, you will be a part of a team that protects and improves the environment through reviewing and implementing air quality policies on a variety of air quality issues.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Processing air pollution control permit applications and issuing permits on a variety of industrial sources.
- Understanding and implementing rules and regulations related to the air quality program.
- Reviewing air quality regulatory reports and permit data line-by-line.
- Communicating with the regulated community on air permitting and compliance topics.
- Conducting inspections on industrial sources of air pollution.
- Assisting in state implementation planning and development.
- Other duties as assigned, dependent on the current needs of the division of air quality.
To succeed in this position, you must be able to learn quickly, manage your time effectively, be independent and work well in a team environment, and have strong verbal and written communications skills. Additionally, you will be required to interpret, explain, and implement rules objectively, consistently, and fairly.
Minimum QualificationsDEQ is attempting to fill this entry level position at the Environmental Engineer I level, which requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited university.
Engineering Work Experience Is Not Required.
