Marvin is seeking a Controls Engineer to design, program, and support automated manufacturing systems for our premium window and door operations. In this role, you'll develop PLC/HMI controls, electrical schematics, and safety systems to improve reliability, throughput, and quality. You'll troubleshoot complex equipment issues, lead commissioning of new machinery, and collaborate closely with production, maintenance, and engineering teams. Responsibilities
- Design, program, and implement PLC/HMI-based control systems for automated manufacturing equipment
- Troubleshoot and optimize existing control systems to improve safety, quality, and throughput
- Develop electrical schematics, panel layouts, and documentation following industry and company standards
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams on new equipment and process improvements
- Support commissioning, start-up, and validation of new machinery and automation projects
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and Marvin engineering guidelines
- Analyze production data to identify control improvements and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Train maintenance and production staff on equipment controls and best practices
Required Skills
- PLC programming (Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar)
- HMI/SCADA development and configuration
- Electrical schematic design (Auto
- CAD Electrical or similar)
- Industrial networking (Ether
- Net/IP, Profinet, Modbus)
- VFDs and motion control systems
- Industrial sensors and instrumentation
- Control panel design and troubleshooting
- Data collection and basic analysis for process improvement
- Machine safety systems and standards
- Project coordination for equipment installation and commissioning
