The Office of Guardianship and Conservatorship is hiring a Fiscal Officer to manage and oversee the agency’s fiscal operations, ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and reporting integrity across agency programs and services.
This role offers broad responsibility spanning accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, contracts, grants, and legislative reporting.
What You’ll Do:As the Fiscal Officer, you will manage comprehensive accounting, budgeting, and financial operations:
- Accounting & Financial Management – Perform full-cycle accounting including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, expense administration, fee processing, and financial record maintenance.
- Budgeting & Financial Reporting – Support biennial budget planning, monitor expenditures, and prepare monthly, annual, and ad hoc financial and budget reports.
- Program & Grant Financial Oversight – Administer funding distributions, maintain financial statements, track revenues and expenditures, and ensure audit and reporting compliance.
- Funds & Revenue Administration – Collect and manage fees, oversee deposits, and maintain fund accounting records.
- Financial Analysis & Compliance – Evaluate financial data, maintain documentation standards, and ensure adherence to accounting principles.
- Stakeholder Collaboration – Provide fiscal guidance and financial insights to leadership and staff.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in Accounting, Business, Finance
, or a related field - At least one year of related accounting or fiscal experience
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
- Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Experience with budget development
, preferably in the public sector - Proficiency with accounting systems, financial reporting tools, and spreadsheets
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare clear, concise reports
- Strong communication skills and comfort working with stakeholders at all levels
- Excellent organization and prioritization skills in a multi-responsibility role
