Summary Of Work
The North Dakota State Auditor's Office is seeking a Legislative Intern for the legislative session. Helping champion our mission of producing informative audits that improve government, this role will primarily work with the management team.
We’re looking for someone to work full-time from January until the end of legislative session, which is usually the last week of April. You’ll start at an hourly pay rate of $21 per hour.

- Coordinating legislative meetings between legislators and the State Auditor.
- Tracking all pertinent legislative bills and updating staff's calendars with hearings or meetings.
- Follow up on legislators' questions and work with staff to respond.
- Provide copies of testimony to legislative committees, when requested.
- Reading all bills as they relate to the State Auditor's Office and reporting back to SAO leadership for possible future meetings.
- Organizing all our weekly legislative meetings, notifying staff of hearings, and organizing staff to attend or participate in hearings.
- Write weekly legislative updates for office staff.
- Communicate with committee clerks & interns to stay on top of legislative changes that could impact the Auditor's Office.
- Conduct policy research for use in testimony, ensure testimony is being drafted, and submit copies to clerks or upload online.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously, including setting and meeting deadlines. The willingness to work independently and assume additional responsibilities.
- Able to interact with individuals at many levels and handle confidential matters. Along with Strong research and computer skills with excellent attention to detail.
