MDU Resources Group, Inc. is a member of the S&P Small Cap 600 index and is based in Bismarck, ND; operating across the Pacific Northwest and Midwest. We are seeking a Human Resources professional who is organized, customer-focused, and enjoys helping others in a fast-paced, collaborative environment to perform a variety of HR generalist functions. This role will focus on supporting Labor Relations in a multi-contract environment.

Other duties may include the following areas: recruiting, organizational development, employee relations, and leave management. Responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in day-to-day work routine for self and others.

Human Resource Generalist: ($63,860 - $79,830)

• Must possess working knowledge of business and human resource practices at a level normally acquired through completion of a four-year degree in business administration or human resources management or related field or equivalent experience; and
• Two years human resource experience.

Human Resource Generalist, Sr: ($73,460 - $91,830)

• Must have a good understanding of business practices and a working knowledge of all functional areas of strategic human resource management at a level normally acquired through completion of a four-year degree in business administration or human resources management or related field or equivalent experience; and
• Four years of progressively responsible human resource experience.

• Must take all measures necessary to protect networks, devices, programs and data from cyber-attack, damage or unauthorized access.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, no sponsor ships considered.
• Subject to pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
• May be required to maintain a valid driver's license.
• Senior level position requires a human resources certification or the ability to obtain certification within one year of attaining the position.

• Familiarity with human resources software applications such as UKG, JDE or Oracle .
• Human resources certification

Provide assistance in aspects of employee relations function, including the interpretation and application of Company policies and collective bargaining agreements.

Assists with investigations, participates in HR projects, process improvement efforts, and organizational initiatives,

Provides backup support for specialty HR functions and contributes to cross-functional HR activities.

Maintains current knowledge of HR laws, regulations, trends, and best practices.

Performs other tasks and special projects as assigned.
