Summary Of Work
This position ensures that legislative software applications meet quality and accessibility standards and business requirements throughout development and release. Individuals in this position are responsible for testing, identifying, and tracking defects within custom software applications in collaboration with developers and other legislative staff.
Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and maintain test plans and cases for functional, accessibility, performance, and regression testing of legislative systems.
- Identify, document, and report defects, inconsistencies, and anomalies within legislative systems.
- Participate in daily Scrum/Agile developer meetings and attend required employee training and career development classes.
- Create and modify testing processes manually or using testing framework software.
- Collaborate with application users, software developers, and systems administrators to achieve desired results.
- Work under pressure and meet deadlines, including the ability to work overtime during peak periods.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Information Technology Director of the Legislative Council.
Skills And Abilities
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle.
- Knowledge of Python, Django, HTML, CSS, SQL databases.
- Identifying and documenting test scenarios and assisting with system and acceptance testing.
- Testing and troubleshooting web and business applications.
- Gather functional requirement and defect information by meeting with staff, reviewing current application procedures, and collaborating with supervisor or peers.
- Ability to remain objective, nonpartisan, and professional regarding all legislative matters.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or a computer‑related field.
