Hexa Hive is a Bismarck, ND-based marketing agency helping small and midsize businesses across North Dakota grow through marketing that’s grounded in strategy and rooted in care. Founded in 2019, we’ve been named a Top-10 Employer in Bismarck-Mandan five years running, Women-Owned Business of the Year, awarded the Torch Award for outstanding ethics, and we’re known for being fierce advocates for our clients.
We’re a full-service team — strategy, branding, web, content, campaigns, paid media, and design — but the work means more to us than just what we create. Our clients have built businesses, teams, and reputations they care deeply about, and they trust us with a piece of what happens next. We take that seriously.
We intentionally don’t have hundreds of clients or contracts. We’d rather know our clients personally, care deeply about their success, and make sure they never feel like another number on a list. We want them to feel seen, heard, prioritized, and confident that the marketing team they’re partnering with is guiding them forward.
That’s where this role comes in.
About the RoleGreat account management isn’t just about getting work out the door. It’s about making sure clients feel like someone is truly paying attention — to what they’re saying, what’s changing in their business, and what matters most right now.
We’re looking for a Senior Account Manager who’s been around the block. You’ll be the primary contact for key Hexa Hive clients — knowing their businesses, keeping them informed, navigating competing priorities, and using good judgment when the answer isn’t obvious.
Your job is not to personally create the marketing strategy or execute the work. You’ll get to the root of what the client is trying to accomplish, bring clarity and perspective, connect the right expertise, and help keep priorities clear and aligned as needs change.
You don’t have to be a marketer by trade, but you do need to understand marketing well enough to ask smart questions, communicate the why behind our work, and know when to bring in deeper expertise. At its core, this role is about stewardship: making sure our clients feel seen, informed, cared for, and confident in where we’re headed together.
- Someone who hears what’s underneath the ask — You know how to pause, ask the next question, and understand what a client is actually trying to solve before jumping to the answer.
- Someone who makes clients feel taken care of — You communicate, follow through, remember the context, navigate hard conversations, and don’t make clients chase you for answers.
- A natural connector of dots and people — You quickly recognize what matters, what needs attention first, and whose expertise belongs in the conversation. Taking ownership doesn’t mean doing everything yourself.
- Comfortable speaking marketing — You understand enough about strategy, messaging, creative, web, content, advertising, and other disciplines to communicate confidently with clients and specialists without needing to be the person creating the solution.
- Quick on your feet — You’re comfortable when a meeting goes off-script. You can absorb new information, exercise good judgment, separate what’s urgent from what’s important, and keep things moving.
- Hungry, but humble — You take initiative and care deeply about making things better, but you don’t need to have every answer. You’re confident enough to make a call and humble enough to know when someone else’s expertise should lead.
- Own the relationship for an assigned portfolio of accounts, making sure clients consistently feel seen, heard, informed, and prioritized
- Develop a strong understanding of each client’s business, goals, people, priorities, and broader context
- Lead client conversations…
