Role Description

The Sr. Major Gifts Development Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Bismarck, ND, responsible for supporting and advancing Delta Waterfowl’s major gifts fundraising efforts. This role manages a portfolio of major gift prospects, coordinates outreach and stewardship activities, and prepares donor communications, proposals, and impact reports. The coordinator collaborates with development leadership to plan and execute donor cultivation events, track fundraising progress, and maintain accurate records in the donor database.

Daily responsibilities include organizing projects and timelines, responding to donor inquiries, supporting gift processing and acknowledgements, and ensuring consistent, high-quality service to donors and partners. The position works closely with internal teams to align messaging with organizational priorities and to help grow philanthropic support for Delta Waterfowl’s mission.

Qualifications
  • Strong Communication and Writing skills to craft clear donor correspondence, proposals, and stewardship materials.
  • Demonstrated Fundraising experience, particularly with major gifts or individual giving campaigns.
  • Proven Project Management abilities to coordinate multiple donor initiatives, events, and timelines.
  • Customer Service skills to build and maintain positive, professional relationships with donors and stakeholders.
  • Experience using CRM or donor management systems and proficiency with standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and maintain confidentiality with sensitive donor information.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Business, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of or interest in conservation, outdoor recreation, and/or waterfowl hunting is an asset.
