As a Medical Surgical RN you will conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on patients' immediate conditions or needs. Med Surg RNs perform ongoing assessments and provide treatments as ordered by a physician. Documenting patient findings and providing education and support to patients’ families is essential.

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre‑ and post‑op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during examination and treatment.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plan as prescribed by physician.

Medical Surgical Travel Nurses must be able to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean and stoop without difficulty. RNs should lift 20 pounds easily; moving or lifting patients may require up to 50 pounds. Work in a fast‑paced environment treating patients that may be confused, agitated, and/or uncooperative.

Requirements*: BLS, 2‑year recent acute care experience. Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.

Job . Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
