Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – 12-hour nights in Bismarck, North Dakota. 13-week contract (March 30 – June 29, 2026). Active ND or Compact RN license and BLS (AHA) required. Job Requirements

• Active North Dakota (ND) or Compact RN license required

• BLS certification (AHA)

• Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg nursing experience preferred (acute care experience highly valued)

• Clinical skills: pre- and post-op care, IV starts, dressing changes, Foley catheter care, medication administration

• Experience with EPIC EMR and Acu-dose medication dispensing systems is a plus

• Ability to manage a high patient turnover and prioritize care in a fast-paced environment

• Willingness to float to other Med-Surg units as needed

• Not accepting local travelers with permanent addresses within 80 miles of Bismarck

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for observation and short-stay medical/surgical patients (e.g., chest pain, abdominal pain, post-op procedures)

• Perform IV starts, dressing changes, medication administration, and Foley catheter care with attention to infection control

• Monitor, document, and communicate patient progress using EPIC EMR

• Coordinate efficient admissions and discharges in a high-turnover acute care setting

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary clinical team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes

• Participate in unit orientation and training, including classroom and preceptor-led shifts

• Maintain compliance with facility policies and procedures, including badge in/out and documentation standards
