American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a minimum of 3 years of L&D experience and NRP certification, working straight nights in an acute care hospital setting.
Requirements- Active ND or Compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NRP
- STABLE certification preferred but not required
- Minimum 3 years of L&D experience required
- Experience in mother/baby, and gyn care required
- Fetal monitoring experience required
- Two professional references required: one from a supervisor within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and one from a peer or supervisor in the same specialty within the last 3 years
- All certifications must be active and in hand — no pending certifications accepted
- Acute care hospital Labor & Delivery unit with 19 beds
- Patient population includes L&D, postpartum mom/baby couplets, gynecological surgical postop, high-risk obstetric, and newborn patients
- Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:1–1:2 for L&D, 1:3 for mom/baby couplets, and 1:5–6 for combined mom/baby and gyn assignments
- Equipment includes fetal monitors, suction, oxygen, and vital signs monitors; OBIX documentation and centralized monitoring used for L&D;
Epic used for gyn patients - Epic EMR experience preferred
- 12‑hour straight night shifts, with occasional day shifts
- Every other weekend and holiday required
- Float to newborn nursery and NICU as needed
- 13‑week contract
- Responsibilities include nursing care during labor and delivery (including high‑risk patients), postpartum mom and baby care, and gyn surgical postop care
- Navy blue scrubs required for gyn and mom/baby care; hospital‑provided scrubs for L&D
- Orientation is 36 hours
- Candidates with a permanent address within 80 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
- Candidates who have previously worked at any Sanford Health location must have an end date at least 6 months prior to the start of this assignment
